CAIRO: Former Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour vowed on Wednesday to return to his post, just a few hours after being released from prison. The controversial lawyer spent nine months in jail for verbally abusing Egyptian Chief Justice Sayed Nofal. Life-long Zamalek fan Mamdouh Abbas replaced him and spent heavily to strengthen the team s squad. Nevertheless, the Cairo giants were not able to produce fine results in the Egyptian League. The period I spent in prison was not a crisis. I won t apologize to anyone, I did nothing wrong, he told Dream TV. I was the elected president so I should reclaim my position. My battle with Abbas has begun.
