Zamalek quickly headed for the gutter

CAIRO: Kuwaiti club Qadsia s Mousaed Nada heaped more misery on already-under-pressure Zamalek when he scored twice to hand the beleaguered club a 2-1 defeat in the Arab Champions League on Wednesday.
Nada curled two venomous free-kicks on both sides of the interval to cancel out Amr Zaki s opener for Zamalek and send the Cairo side into the basement of Group A.
Zamalek now have one point from two games after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Algerian League strugglers Ahly Bordj in Cairo.
This is Zamalek s second successive defeat after losing to Masri 2-0 in the local league on Friday.
It was also the first defeat under coach Ahmed Ramzi who has been appointed caretaker manager till signing a foreign coach after firing Portuguese manager Manuel Cajuda.
In his defense, Ramzi said his side didn t deserve to lose to Qadsia of Kuwait in their Arab Champions League encounter.
The Egyptians took the lead through Amr Zaki s strike in the 10th minute but they conceded twice from free-kicks.
We should have ended the first period three goals up, Ramzi said at a Wednesday post-match press conference.
Qadsia scored on both sides of the break and this made our players nervous, added Ramzi, who has been appointed as a caretaker manager after the club sacked Portuguese boss Manuel Cajuda last week.
Yet, Ramzi refused to blame any of his players, stressing that they did all what they could do but the result wasn t as expected.
The defeat left Zamalek rooted in Group A with one point from two games.
Ahly Bordj, who tied Zamalek 2-2 in Cairo last week, are in charge of the group with four points, one ahead of Ahly Jeddah and Qadsia.
