Petroleum sector supplies 1.1m LPG cylinders to resolve shortage
Conflicting reports over effectiveness of additional supply of LPG cylinders in different cities, governorates
Published in Daily News Egypt on 11 - 09 - 2016

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said that the petroleum sector has been supplying 1.1m LPG cylinders on a daily basis since 1 September, with an increase of 150,000 LPG cylinders compared to August.
The sector also prepared trucks with additional LPG cylinders to be sent to places where they are needed, he added.
Ismail said that the LPG filling stations will continue working 24 hours at full capacity during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, adding that distribution outlets will also resume operations.
He also pointed out that a hotline is available for complaints at 19096, which is ready to deal with and resolve any predicaments during the national holiday.
The government has been following up on the availability of primary goods supplies and the strategies to meet the citizens' needs, especially during Eid Al-Adha.
For the past days, people have been flooding to buy LPG cylinders in different governorates and cities before the holiday, which has caused shortages in distribution outlets.
Some officials and media outlets reported that the needs of the governorates have been fulfilled, while others stated that the shortage remains even after the distribution of additional LPG cylinders.
