Verna leads sales of the Korean market in H1 2016

Hyundai acquired 85.9% of the Korean automotive market sales in the first half (H1) of 2016, selling 19,900 cars out of total sales of 23,100 Korean-made cars.
The carmaker was able to seize the top six spots on the list, outperforming its rival Kia.
Verna topped the sales list of the Korean carmakers. A total of 6,689 cars were sold with a total value of EGP 675m.
Tucson came in second place, achieving sales of 3,944 units worth EGP 1.2bn.
Elantra HD recorded the third highest sales of 2,175 cars. Creta followed, having sold 1,394 units worth EGP 317m. The Accent RB registered sales of 1,287 units worth EGP 202m.
Elantra AD followed, selling 1,191 cars, while Kia's new Cerato came in seventh with sales amounting to 1,136 units worth EGP 226m.
Over a period of five months Hyundai had the top seven places on the Korean brands list, with Kia tailing in eighth place.
Hyundai Verna had maintained its lead of the Korean brands in Egypt between January and May, having sold 5,938 units worth EGP 611m during that period.
Tucson was also in second place over that period with sales of 3,466 units worth EGP 1.04bn.
Elantra HD recorded the third highest sales, with 1,707 units sold at EGP 268.8m, followed by Creta, which sold EGP 1,193 units worth EGP 268.4m. Accent RB was ranked fifth with sales of 1,069 units at EGP 166m.
Hyundai Solaris came in sixth place with 966 units sold, followed by Elantra AD with 931. With the eight highest sales was Kia Cerato with 736 units sold worth EGP 143m.
