Lieutenant Magdy Hegazy, governor of Aswan, said that building a new Egypt will not happen without the required effort and investments. The Elite Real Estate Exhibition (EREEX) is considered to be one of the most promising initiatives for encouraging foreign investment in Egypt, and especially in Aswan, Hegazy added. Aswan has become a really good location for investment, after the opening of new roads and new ports, the building of cities specialised in investment and railroads, and the improvement of export means through the Red Sea, he added. It is also filled with energy sources like sunlight and wind. Hegazy added that the Aswan governorate has recently put forth an investment plan, which ensures that the investors will be able to have all their "investment needs" answered in Aswan. An investment body will be established in Aswan, activating a "one-stop-shop" policy to ease the procedures and extraction of licences. At EREEX, Hegazy showed the plans for Aswan's expansion to the east, which will accommodate the government's needs for investment and tourism in the coming years. He also invited investors to participate in these developmental projects.
