Suez Canal traffic data reports from last week
340 ships transit Suez Canal, with total load of 18.8m tons in past week

Suez Canal traffic data revealed that 340 ships transited the canal with a total load of 18.8m tons from 23 to 29 October. Data also cited that until 29 October, 14,679 vessels crossed the canal.
About 49 ships per day transit the canal on average during the past week with an average load of 2.68m tons per day, while the average per ship load reached 55,200 tons last week.
In July 2015 before the inauguration of the New Suez Canal, the average daily number of transiting vessels totaled at 47 vessels, with an average load of 2.758m tons per day.
The largest cargo to transit the canal was of 200,360 tones was last week on Danish container ship Marstal Maersk.
Cargo load is the main measure of shipping traffic in the Suez Canal on which fees for the transit is calculated.
About 177 ships transited the canal heading north with a daily average of 25 ships and a total load of 9m tons of cargo, a daily average of 1.28 million tons.
The number of ships that passed through the new channel from the east through the southern entrance was about 163 ships, a daily average of 23 vessels, with total loads of 9.8m tons, a daily average of 1.4m tons.
