The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) has launched a development programme in Upper Egypt to fully develop the cities located there, starting with New Aswan city.
The development programme includes launching a hospital with 175 beds in New Aswan city, in line with the Ministry of Health's accredited model, as well as an ambulance, said Mustafa Saeed, head of the New Aswan Authority. He added that they are currently coordinating with the health directorate there to deliver an ambulance building and the health unit.
The NUCA has further approved renovations for the city gates, as well as building a 23-acre garden and a university, starting in the second quarter of the current fiscal year.
There will be youth and community centres, as well as greenery on the roads and squares, and a new traffic station and fire station to serve citizens, said the head of the NUCA in Aswan.
Meanwhile, the current budget designated for New Akhmim in Sohag for 2015/2016 is EGP 89m, of which EGP 40m went to social housing, which includes 800 units, while EGP 30m were directed towards seven buildings serving social housing, said Hussam Fathy, head of the NUCA in Akhmim.
They development of facilities in New Aswan has begun in accordance with Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly's strategies.
The goal is to offer many investment projects, as well as facilities and improvements, and to reinstate social housing in Aswan, Saeed added.
