5 police officers injured in Beheira armed attack
Interior ministry reports arresting alleged perpetrators of 24 August attack on police bus, also in Beheira
Published in Daily News Egypt on 07 - 09 - 2015

Five police officers were injured in an armed attack that targeted a security patrol Monday morning in Beheira governorate, state media reported.
The injured officers were transferred to Beheira General Hospital to be treated, while explosives experts checked surrounding areas for explosive devices and searched for the suspects.
Two weeks earlier, a bomb targeting a police bus in Beheira detonated on the side of a road, leaving three police officers dead and 18 injured, according the interior ministry's statement.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Interior arrested those suspected of carrying out the 24 August attack on the police bus. The ministry also reported having discovered the "terrorists' hideouts", as well as additional bombs.
In a statement, the Ministry accused the Muslim Brotherhood of conducting the bombing, and announced its arrest of "Brotherhood leader" Maher Abdel Meneim, accusing him of planting the bomb, along with four other alleged Muslim Brotherhood members.
The ministry further stated that those arrested were planning another attack on a police checkpoint along the international coastal road.
Bombings have become a frequent occurrence across Egypt, with the largest number of attacks reported in North Sinai, while other attacks have occurred in Greater Cairo and other governorates.
