3 civilians injured in Sinai roadside bombing
Bomb was intended to target security forces, says army

Three teachers were injured Monday after a roadside bomb exploded near a bus in the North Sinai town of Sheikh Zuweid, the armed forces said Monday.
The army added that the victims are currently being treated in hospital for their injuries, adding
that the explosion took place after the bus passed the bomb, which was targeting security forces.
At the time of print, the explosion had not been claimed by any militant group.
"State of Sinai" is currently the most active in the Sinai Peninsula, threatening security personnel with death in many propaganda videos, often released on their social media outlets.
Similar incidents have frequently taken place in North Sinai, mainly targeting military vehicles and facilities. At least 141 militants were killed in clashes with military forces in North Sinai throughout May, according to the army.
The armed forces are building a 5km buffer zone, of which 1km has been completely evacuated and all tunnels leading to the Gaza Strip destroyed. The buffer zone is to prevent the infiltration of terrorists and tunnels in and out of the peninsula.
The past six months have seen two of the biggest attacks in the restive peninsula. The first was launched in 24 October 2014 in Sheikh Zuweid, leaving at least 30 security personnel dead.
The other was on 29 January, targeting a number of security facilities and checkpoints in Al-Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid, killing a large number of security personnel, which the armed group claims to be "hundreds".
North Sinai tribes announced their stance with the army and against the militant group.
