Shell renews contract with Artoc Auto Egypt five more years
Published in Daily News Egypt on 27 - 11 - 2013

Artoc Auto Egypt, the sole authorised dealer of Skoda brand vehicles in Egypt, renewed its contract with Shell lubricants Egypt to be its main lubricant supplier for five more years, according to a press release from Shell lubricants Egypt.
Under the new contract, Shell, the world's leading synthetic oils producer, will supply Artoc Auto with its synthetic oil, equipped with cleansing technology to protect engines in challenging conditions.
Shell's synthetic oil prevents the accumulation of harmful deposits inside the engine, allowing vehicles to operate at maximum performance for longer in between oil changes, Shell said in the press release.
According to Artoc Auto, Shell was chosen due to its dedication to technological advancement in the lubricants and oils industry, adding that Shell shares trust with its customers.
The signing ceremony of the agreement was attended by several members of Artoc Auto's executive team including General Manager Ahmed Mehrez, Head of After-Sales Department Hussein El-Werdany and Maintenance Manager Maged Abdel Halim.
From Shell's side, Regional General Manager for the Mediterranean Stavros Kokkinis attended along with Managing Director for Shell Lubricants Egypt Saher Hashem, Contracts Manager for Skoda Daniel Kust, Direct Marketing Manager Hatem El-Malla and Automotive Key Account Manager Mahmoud El-Hadary.
Kokkinis stressed during the ceremony the significance of meeting the needs of Egyptian automotive buyers. Echoing this statement, Hashem said the Shell and Artoc Auto partnership would result in growth opportunities for both companies in the future.
Meanwhile, Kust emphasised that the agreement represents both companies' strong reputation in the market, confirming his belief that the partnership with Artoc Auto will help boost the "Franchise Workshop" concept.
"Shell Lubricants Egypt also saw an opportunity to growing its business and fostering teamwork between domestic and international firms," he said, adding that he looks forward to taking both companies' cooperation "to the next level."
According to the press release, Shell is working to strengthen numerous partnerships and cooperation agreements, stressing the importance of the Egyptian market by describing it as an "important region for the brand".
Shell started operating in Egypt in 1911, managed by Anglo Egyptian Oil Company, a joint venture between Shell and a British Petroleum Company. Shell's staff comprised of more than 200 researchers, 300 technicians and advisors, and 1,000 specialists.
Artoc Auto Egypt operated in 1994 and established the Skoda brand as a market leader in Egypt.
