Former minister of youth arrested

Former minister of youth and prominent Brotherhood leader Osama Yassin was arrested on Monday morning in a villa in the Fifth Settlement, New Cairo, according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior. The ministry added that Mohamed Hafez, secretary for Muslim Brotherhood deputy Supreme Guide Khairat El Shater, was arrested in a villa in El Narges Area, New Cairo at the same time.
The statement said the villa Yassin was arrested in belongs to Brotherhood leader Ibrahim El-Ka'eed.
State-owned Al-Ahram reported that Yassin and Hafez will be interrogated in Tora prison on Sunday. Yassin is charged with inciting violence and killing protesters in presidential palace and Republican Guard headquarters clashes, and in Rabaa Al-Adaweya sit-in dispersal. Yassin is also charged of torture and killing in Rabaa Al-Adaweya sit-in, and killing two policemen in presidential palace clashes.
Yassin was described by Deputy Prime minister Hossam Eissa as one of the most dangerous leaders of the "secret organisation" that is the Brotherhood, in an interview with OnTV on Saturday.
Prominent Salafi preacher Abdullah Badr and Salafi leader Gamal Saber, were also detained for 15 days for interrogations in Tora prison regarding allegations of inciting violence during the presidential palace clashes, which resulted in 11 deaths, according to Aswat Masriya
Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, his deputy, Khairat El Shater, and prominent Brotherhood supporter Safwat Hegazy, will also be interrogated regarding allegations of inciting violence and killings in clashes in Bein El Sarayat, which resulted in 23 deaths and 220 injuries, Al-Ahram reported.
Ammar El Beltagi, son of Brotherhood leader Mohamed El Beltagi, who was arrested on Sunday in Beni Suef, was released on Monday, while the other four people arrested with him were detained for four days for interrogation regarding violence in Beni Suef, Aswat Masriya reported.
The Ministry of Interior said on Sunday that El Beltagi was arrested after the public prosecution issued an arrest warrant for him, pertaining to violence in Beni Suef.
