Revolutionary detainee released

The verdict against revolutionary activist Bassem Mohsen Al-Wardani has been suspended.
Daily News Egypt spoke with Al-Wardani following his release. “The suspension of the verdict was a gift from God," he said, denying rumours he was ill-treated in jail.
“Now that the verdict has been suspended, Al-Wardani will not be serving any more time in jail," Al-Wardani's lawyer, Ossama Al-Mahdi, told Daily News Egypt.
Leader of the third army Major General Ossama Askar sent an official letter to Suez security director Adel Ref'at ordering Al-Wardani's release, according to independent ONA news agency.
Al-Wardani was sentenced by the Suez military court to two years imprisonment over a month ago for taking part in a demonstration held outside the Suez military court on 9 July protesting the trial of eight revolutionary activists who were arrested following the Abasseya clashes in May.
Al-Wardani was previously injured during the January 2011 revolution.
