Zamalek coach demands Geddo 'stick to his word'
Published in Daily News Egypt on 01 - 03 - 2010

CAIRO: Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan said Ittihad forward Mohamed "Geddo Nagi "should not break his word after penning a deal to join the Cairo club next season.
Geddo has landed himself in hot water after signing for Zamalek before extending his Ittihad contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season.
Both sides are likely to be involved in a legal battle in the summer over who should own his registration.
Zamalek, who said more than once they acted in an appropriate way when they approached Geddo with six months remaining before the expiry of his Ittihad deal, vowed to "do their utmost to preserve their rights.
Geddo was the one who wanted to join Zamalek. His agent contacted us and said his client was interested in joining Zamalek, Hassan said in an interview with Dream TV on Saturday.
Religious and moral principles oblige him to honor his word and complete his move to Zamalek.
Geddo burst onto the scene with some impressive displays off the bench in Egypt s triumphant African Cup of Nations campaign last month.
He scored five goals despite not starting any game to finish as the top scorer and help the Pharaohs win an unprecedented third continental title.
Geddo approached the tournament in the best possible way because he was comfortable that he would join a very popular club in Zamalek, Hassan added.
He consequently excelled and produced brilliant displays.
The 25-year-old, seemingly affected by his transfer row, has failed to hit top form since reporting back from international duty.
He did not find the net in Ittihad s last four games in the Egyptian Premier League.
