Allegria goes home with 2 CNBC Property Awards

CAIRO: SODIC's upscale its upscale residential development, Allegria, on the outskirts of Cairo, has won two CNBC Arabian Property Awards 2008 in the categories of Best Development, and Best Golf Development, the company said in a statement.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner to be held at The Madinat in Dubai on Oct. 19.
"The fact that Allegria earned two of these coveted awards is sure proof that Egypt's SODIC can not only compete but also triumph within the highly competitive Arabian property arena, the company said in a statement.
"Having been given this high recommendation by its peers, the company is now entitled to display the CNBC Arabian Property Awards' logo with pride. This symbol of excellence will be recognized and appreciated by the public who are becoming increasingly well informed and discerning about the properties they seek to buy.
The best development award was based on the location, external appearance, details of architectural design and the interior design. In addition the attention to details in terms of safety, security, energy efficiency and innovation were all recognized.
In terms of the Golf Development, Allegria's golf course was developed by renowned golfer Greg Norman. Criteria for the award included design, development and planning.

The judges were headed by Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State. Helen Shield, editor-in-chief of International Homes magazine, and Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents, also participated in assessing the participants.
