No, it's not Ralph Lauren's Polo

The confident spirit of classic American style has made its way into the Egyptian market at the one and only CityStars, Egypt's fashion haven. US Polo Association, the official brand of the United States Polo Association, the governing body for the sport of polo in the US since 1890, combines comfort with chic with its wide collection of casual wear.
"If I was to describe our brand as a person, I would say it is athletic, confident, traditional, classic and genuine, explained David Cummings, president and CEO of US Polo Association Properties, Inc.
Throughout the store, the great resemblance is evident between its products and those of Polo Ralph Lauren's, especially the logo with the polo player riding a horse. Cummings was keen on pointing out the difference between the two brands.
"The difference between Polo Ralph Lauren and the US Polo Association is that we are the sport of polo, he said. "Our focus is to offer men and women sports wear with the same quality but offered at a reasonable price.
The newly opened store carries a summer collection of smart casual wear. For the ladies, a collection of jeans, which includes everything from slim-fit pants to Bermudas, shorts and skirts, is available. And if you are looking for a summer dress suitable for the North Coast's famous Barbeque parties, this shop won't disappoint.
For the gentlemen, the store houses a collection of jeans and casual pants in beige and navy blue. You can pair those with a light sweater or a linen blazer, also available at the store.
A collection of t-shirts, polo shirts and shirts are available in a variety of colors and prints for men and women. There is also a collection of shoes, which include espadrilles and running shoes.
US Polo Association brand is available in over 100 countries counting for a total of $600 million in retail around the world. It's brought to Egypt by Quattro Trading and Services Company who were chosen by the Aydinli Group, a Turkish corporation and the master licensee of the US Polo Association brand in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
"Quattro is very proud of this achievement, we believe that by bringing this brand to the Egyptian market, Quattro has added value to the fashion industry as a whole for the elegant and discernible customer, said Ayman Seoudy, managing director of Quattro.
Quattro are planning to open four stores of US Polo Association in Egypt by the end of 2008, of which two have already opened at CityStars and Dandy Mall. Their long-term objective is to have 15 stores located in Cairo. "The success of a brand is all about location, location, location and we are doing that by opening a store in Cairo . at CityStars, said Cummings.
