Published in Daily News Egypt on 04 - 04 - 2008

Sick of the same ol' recipes? A unique new approach to traditional Arabic dishes is one of Fatafeet s newly produced shows Gedid Fi Gedid.
Fatafeet is the first 24-hour TV Channel in the Middle East set up in cooperation with Food Network-USA to cater to audiences with a sincere passion for food.
Egyptian-Canadian Chef Andrew Mitchell adds a new flair to Middle Eastern cuisine whipping up hybrid dishes like molokheyya risotto and okra gratin.
Youssef El Deeb, chairman of Takhayal Entertainment, Fatafeet's mother company, met the chef for the first time in Egypt and saw great potential in him for the TV station adding value due to his diverse background.
He is currently the executive chef at Seasons Resort and Country Club located on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Highway (kilometer 18).
On the show, Chef Andrew explores Middle Eastern culture through dishes from all over the Arab world on a journey of fusion.
As Chef Andrew recreates delicious traditional dishes, his Lebanese sidekick Darine assists him with the final touches.
In his second show Shourba Wi Naknaka (Soup and Snacks) Chef Andrew gives tips and solutions to cook various kinds of soups and snacks in less than half an hour.
"My love for food only increased through this experience, the Chef told Daily News Egypt, "I m sure it will be fun and entertaining to watch myself speak inbroken Arabic on TV.
With lots of innovative soups and snacks, Fatafeet will make your kitchen like no other, especially with the help of Chef Andrew's ability to enhance flavors and perfect new recipes.
