DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates national airline, Emirates Airlines, has said they are looking to boost the number of flights to the Egyptian capital in order to increase travel between the wealthy Gulf country and the most populous Arab nation. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group and Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Hisham Zaazou on Thursday discussed ways to promote tourism and civil aviation relations and the promotion of tourism to Dubai and Egypt at major markets such as China, Japan, South Korea and Australia. "At the fruitful meeting, Sheikh Ahmed repeated a request by Emirates Airline to increase its flights to Cairo," according to Minister Zaazou. "The request will be discussed with the Egyptian civil aviation authorities. Dubai can be used by tourists as a point of departure to Cairo and vice versa," he said. The Egyptian minister emphasized that relations with the UAE are strong and expressed hopes for expanded cooperation between the two countries. BN
