CAIRO: Adobe Systems for the Middle East and North Africa announced on Tuesday that it was introducing a new pricing scheme in Egypt for businesses that aims to boost creativity and business productivity applications. It also hopes the new pricing will be more accessible for the country's businesses in light of the current economic downturn. “This is in line with its efforts to reduce software piracy and to make its products more affordable in Egypt," a statement from Adobe said. “The pricing strategy will center on Adobe's popular Creative Suite 6 (CS6) and the Adobe Acrobat application software. The company is offering Egyptian businesses discounts of up to 60 percent on these products," it said. Mohamed Hegazy, director for Intellectual Property Rights at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), said in a statement responding to the announcement that “the move from Adobe to offer discounts on its products in Egypt will have significant positive effects on the local business community." ITIDA, the country's leading technology development organization added that it believed that by delivering these new services at lower prices, companies in Egypt can be able to expand and push their business plans forward, which could translate into more jobs and boosting the economy.
