KUALA LUMPUR: Leading budget airline AirAsia is teaming up with Tune Box, a digital media group, to deliver in-flight entertainment onboard long distance flights in Asia, the companies said in a press statement. In a statement today, AirAsia said passengers traveling to or from AirAsia X flights to Australia, China, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan may pre-book the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on its website for only RM35 one way. “The tablet, which has a long battery life of up to 10 hours, is also available for rent on board all flights for RM45 one way,” it said. AirAsia X Chief Executive Officer Azran Osman-Rani, the airline was always on the lookout for ways to further improve its services and enhance the guests' in-flight cabin experience. “The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be a great change to our previous portable e-player as it offers one of the best high-definition screens, sound system and a powerful processor all packed in a sleek yet lightweight tablet,” he said. Tune Box Executive Director Sami El Hadery said the company was “honored to partner with AirAsia X to deliver a sophisticated yet affordable entertainment system.”
