SINGAPORE: In a country first, Singapore residents will not have to travel far to view blooming Cherry Blossom trees, as the island country's Singapore Garden Festival has witnessed the pink and white blooms. AT the Suntec Convention Center, the common Japanese spring novelty is on display after blooming for the first time ever in Singapore. Already, thousands of residents have descended on the center to witness the spectacle. The trees had been imported to Singapore from Japan earlier this year and had been brought to life through a simulation of the cold season typical in Japan. The young two-meter tall trees started to bloom in late June and are expected to be in bloom until the end of the week. According to the center's website, those interested in seeing the blooms can see them on display in the center's centerpiece. ** The Singapore Garden Festival is open from 10 AM to 10 PM daily, until Sunday, July 15.
