NAIROBI: 6 Telecoms Data has launched a new Metro Network in Tanzania that is designed for corporations, whom connectivity is crucial to them. Nick Odero, CEO of 6 Telecoms Data explained: “As companies grow and expand in Tanzania it is important that they have a dedicated network that will allow for them to connect all of their branches in a redundant and secure manner that is robust and cost effective. Metro is aligned to act as a business development partner for our clients as reliable and secure networks are a vital component to growth within East Africa.” 6 Telecoms Data seeks to provide companies with the desired connectivity level they require. For example, clients that need more than Fiber Optic connectivity, Metro will be capable to offer licensed microwave links just for them. For individuals, they will be provided for data via digital Fiber Cable and it will have redundant microwave links to ensure global internet access via all the three submarine cables (Seacom, Teams, and EASSY). The measure is designed to make Internet access always available in the case of cable cuts. The new Metro network extends in various areas such as Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Moshi, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Dodoma, Morogoro, Iringa, Mbeya, and Mtwara.
