CAIRO: Egypt Transport Minister, Galal Saeed, said that the government is keen to develop and construct Sinai as an Egyptian strategic target, establishing several land links to the Sinai with the Nile Valley. The minister pointed out these links are a vehicle tunnel through South Port Said, and railway tunnel beneath the Suez Canal at a total cost estimated at $5 billion, adding the economic, financial, technical feasibility studies will be an important base to secure the project finance either from the state budget or international and Arab funds.
