Iyoha said two-third of the sensitive and regulated information of corporate organizations, sit in databases and the number was doubling every year. He called on organization to protect their databases, irrespective of the entire network security of their organizations. He further stated that 48 percent of the over one billion breached records were caused by insiders, while 89 percent stolen data were perfected with the SQL solution. He added that only 20 percent of sampled organizations globally have security plans for database servers. Iyoha warned of the security risk and explained that loss of data through unauthorized entry of database servers could cause huge loss of money to organizations, how much more revenue loss. Hackers have continued to expand their operations, in spite of efforts made by solution providers to guide against hacking. He urged that organizations should always protect their data, especially the most sensitive ones. He also suggested data encryption alongside heavy investment in security solutions that would protect database servers from inside and outside hackers.
