LAGOS: The Federation of Muslim Women's Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) has asked the Federal Government to find solution to the menace of Boko Haram. According to them, the federal government should engage in public dialogue with the religious sect to stop the killings. National President of FOMWAN, Hajia Maryam Idris Othman, said this in Akure, the Ondo State capital during the enlightenment program for Muslim women in the country. The program has drawn participants from the 36 states of the country and the FCT and attended by the League of Imams and Alfas. Othman said further, that the government should be steadfast in the quest to ensure that total peace is restored. FOMWAN is collaborating with their Christian counterpart under the auspices of Catholic Women Association of Nigeria (CWAON) on the peaceful co-existence between Christianity and Islam in the country. “Most of the killings affect both Christians and Muslims, an indication that it has nothing to do with religion,” she added.
