LAGOS: Sky Vision, the global provider of Internet Protocol connectivity over satellite and fiber optic systems has extended its fiber network to Abuja. This followed the establishment of a new point of presence facility in the Federal Capital Territory. The company disclosed that its existing PoP in Lagos and new one in Abuja were connected to its global MPLS backbone network, enabling its customers direct access to the international Internet backbone. According to Eitan Mesika, the West Africa Sales Director Sky Vision, this is made possible through its broad network as well as connectivity from anywhere in the world to Nigeria using multiple submarine cables. He said, “Providing unlimited, high-quality Internet access services through our PoP in Abuja directly to the customers' premises dramatically improves the customer experience and places Sky Vision as a true end-to-end solution provider.” Mesika further stated the Abuja PoP facility would also allow organizations to benefit from Sky Vision's VSAT hub in Lagos, which provides satellite-based virtual private network services, connecting corporate headquarters to sites that were not covered by any reliable fiber or microwave service. These services include Sky Vision Internet Access, Sky Vision IP-VPN and Carrier Ethernet services. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/BeZG8 Tags: Fiber Internet, Nigeria Section: Nigeria, Tech
