DUBAI: At least 6 people have been killed and one injured, after the biggest vegetable and fruit market in the Nepalese capital caught fire, police said Sunday. A Nepal government official told Bikyamasr.com that “the fire has devastated the market and we are hoping no more deaths with come.” Four members of a family were among those killed, while another survived in critical condition. The fire apparently caused by a short circuit engulfed the entire market late Saturday. Firefighters, police, soldiers and volunteers were still trying to douse the fire Sunday morning. The government is also trying to implement a new round of legislation and financial packages to boost markets' infrastructure across the country, in an effort to ensure safety for the people selling and buying in the country.
