CAIRO: The Swiss city of Zurich was named the world's most expensive city to live in, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's worldwide cost of living report. The Swiss financial capital threw off Tokyo as the most expensive city at the top of the list and experts say it is due to the security of the Swiss Frank compared to the Euro zone crisis. Tokyo came in second and Japan's second city, Osaka, in fourth place. The report examined the cost of living for expatriates in over 130 cities across the world. They used a weighted average of the prices of over 160 services and products in the market. The report's authors said that Zurich climbed up four spots, knocking off Tokyo and landing in the top spot for the first time. Zurich was not the only Swiss city on the list, with Geneva coming in third, followed by Osaka after moving six places up. Oslo, Paris, Sidney and Melbourne followed in 5th to 8th position, respectively. In the Arab world, Oman's Musqat came in the 120 spot and Jeddah at 127.
