SANA'A: Following a military uprising in al-Dalaimi Air Force base, with soldiers and high ranking officers demanding the ouster of General Mohamed Saleh al-Ahmar, President Ali Abdullah Saleh's half-brother for they say they were tired of being ruled by a corrupt man, Vice-President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi is said to issue a decree announcing the general dismissal. “Al-Ahmar took portions of our food allowances to turn a profit, he made a habit of confiscating our rights and applying penalties on our salaries … we refused his authority,” said a pilot. It all started with a violent altercation between general al-Ahmar and some of his officers. At one point Omar al-Hatimi threw a shoe of the high ranking officer, prompting an uprising within the base as men scrambled to protect him from al-Ahmar' supporters. The move led to further soldiers rising against the chain of command, with soldiers in Taiz and Aden demanding the departure of their base commanders. This cleaning up operation, also known as the “institutions revolution” is picking up speed as everywhere across Yemen people are coming out, denouncing corruption and thievery. Universities, Ministries, foreign companies, nobody and nothing seem to be off limit presently. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/zt6Pz Tags: Ahmar, Military, Revolution Section: Latest News, Yemen
