CAIRO: A new video emerged online on Saturday that reveals intensified military cruelty in Cairo, where violent clashes between protesters and soldiers have continued for the second day. The video is the a clip of the live feed of CBC +2 channel. After airing these events, the feed was stopped. The clip shows a stand-off between the military police and protesters on the edge of Qasr al-Aini Street near Tahrir Square. Dozens of soldiers are shown gathering around a fallen protester, beating him senselessly with their batons on his back, head, sides and stomach. Another man is subsequently beaten inches away from the first man. According to official estimates from the Ministry of Health, nine protesters have died and 354 have been injured in the excessive military police violence. After Egypt's Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzoury was appointed to office following the collective resignation of former PM Essam Sharaf and his cabinet, protesters organized an ongoing sit-in outside the Cabinet building in downtown Cairo, set to physically bar the new PM and his ministers from entering the building. Ganzouri served as Prime Minister from 1996 to 1999 during the reign of ousted President Hosni Mubarak. His time as minister saw the hight of privatization in Egypt. The peaceful sit-in was interrupted when tens of protesters got sick after eating sandwiches that were passed out by a figure wearing full niqab on Wednesday afternoon. Less than 48 hours later, the military police attacked the sit-in and burned the protester's tents to the ground. Police said they are trying to stop protesters from storming the cabinet building. The clashes have continued through the second day Saturday. Military police have been seen chasing after protesters in traffic, not far from the Maspero state TV building, off of Tahrir square. Protesters were seen dodging cars, attempting to flee the police. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/FVTgb Tags: featured, Occupy Cabinet, SCAF, Tahrir Section: Egypt, Latest News
