CAIRO: The Egyptian Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics said that Egypt and the Arab world will be witnessing yet another total lunar eclipse, the second and last one this year. The eclipse will accrue on Saturday and last for a total of 51 minutes and 8 seconds and will be visible in Europe, East Africa, East and North Asia, the Philippines, the Americas and the Pacific. Hatem Ouda, charmain of the institute said the year 2011 already saw three solar eclipses in January, June and July. Lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind planet Earth and causes the Earth to block the sun's rays from striking the moon and lighting it. This could occur only when the earth, the sun and moon are aligned exactly with the Earth in between. Lunar eclipses only occur the night of a full moon.
