NAIROBI: The South African ICT company Business Connexion (BCX) is expanding its operations in Kenya, according to a report from the CapitalNews radio station. BCX entered the Kenyan market last year. The company now plans to spend KES 2 billion to expand and strengthen its capacity in the Kenyan market, CapitalNews said. BCK Executive Director John Jenkins said that the company has ten companies lined up as potential clients, and is seeking the opportunity for a mutual investment with a major client. Jenkins will speak at the upcoming AITEC East Africa ICT Summit, where he will talk about cloud computing and the modernization of outsourcing. BCX expects that businesses in Kenya will soon move away from purchasing IT equipment, as cloud computing becomes a better option. The group has invested KES 5.5 billion over the last decade. The company has a presence in Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zambia, and works as a partner network in another 22 African countries. BM
