A German blog has revealed that the iPad 2 has a major and worrisome security flaw when it is combined with the magnetic Smart Cover. According to Apfeltalk blog, when the tablet is combined with the cover it allows anyone to gain access to the tablet without entering the password the user has established as a lock. Many users have expressed outrage over the pronouncement, saying that Apple must immediately take action in order to rectify this problem. “I am shocked and very worried that this has come to attention,” said one iPad 2 owner Marissa Yulpin, a Los Angeles resident at a local cafe. The graphic designer told Bikyamasr.com that she believes Apple “needs to heed these warnings and make any changes necessary for the safety of the device.” Apple is reportedly aware of the issue and said it is working on a fix that might roll out as a security update for the iPad 2.
