A new reality television show being produced in Uganda hopes to inspire young people to be entrepreneurs in the country. The reality series, Project Inspire Africa, has been unveiled with the aim of creating a new generation of active business youth in the country and will focus on technological advancement as the promotion. According to a statement on Inspire Africa's website, the project “aims at building entrepreneurship in East Africa through identifying the best business minds and rewarding them with start-up capital.” The human capital development organization is teaming up with a number of East African television stations to offer $50,000 as a reward for the best three business ideas during season one of Project Inspire Africa. “The money will be awarded to the best contestant in the TV show that is expected to attract 30 finalists out of 50,000 applicants from across East Africa. The show is open to youth above 18 years old with innovative business ideas, according to guidelines issued to the applicants last week,” the organization said. NTV in Uganda and other major channels in East Africa will broadcast the show. According to Inspire Africa, Project Inspire will be a an “eviction-based TV show, wherein locally selected and trained entrepreneurship candidates will compete for the title of the CEO's Best Entrepreneurial Mind in the East Africa Community region.” BM
