Prominent member of Egypt's main opposition coalition and Nobel Laureate, Mohamed ElBaradei, said on Monday that cancelling the constitutional referendum is the way out of the current political crisis. “Last chance: cancelling disreputable referendum and entering national dialogue to heal the rift, technocrat government able to administer and restoring the rule of law. Egypt is above the (Muslim) Brotherhood,” the former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency posted on Twitter. A referendum on a draft constitution written by an Islamist-dominated assembly began on Saturday with its second round scheduled for December 22.
