Hull City coach Steve Bruce said he was disappointed that Ahmed Elmohamady was selected for Egypt's midweek friendly against Georgia after the right-wing back was deemed doubtful for Saturday's game against Birmingham City. Elmohamady took part in Egypt's goalless draw with Georgia in a dull friendly on Wednesday. He is suffering from a muscle strain that may rule him out of the English Championship (second-division) match against Birmingham. “The big thing with Elmohamady is that he's flown to Egypt, then to Georgia, back to Egypt, to London on Thursday, back up to Hull and then we're travelling to Birmingham today,” Bruce told Hull's official website. “That is a lot in a week, even if you're just travelling, never mind playing football. He's the major one we're looking at, but we'll assess it.” Elmohamady has produced some fine displays after joining Hull on a season-long loan from Premier League side Sunderland last summer. He scored his maiden Hull City goal in their 3-2 victory over Leeds United in September.
