President Mohammed Morsy met the three former candidates for the last presidential elections today Amr Moussa, Hamdeen Sabbahy and Abdelmon'em Abu El-fotouh. During the meeting, Moussa expressed his opinions on certain articles in the first draft of the constitution that published last month and immediately drew criticism from civil society groups and political parties. At press time, Morsy was in a meeting with “Popular Current” founder Hamdeen Sabbahi. According to Sabbahi, they discussed three issues which are the reformation of the Islamist-dominated constituent's assembly with a more diverse membership, social justice and getting the martyrs' rights. After Hamdeen's meeting, Morsy has met Abdelmon'em Abu El-Fotouh “Strong Egypt Party” founder. Abu El-Fotouh presented his party's view for the constitution and assured the necessary of finishing the constitution ahead of schedule due to the urgent need for it. “Constitution Party” founder Mohamed ElBaradei, who is currently in Brazil, was also invited to the talks. The meetings are part of a broader consultation to resolve various controversies with the recently released draft constitution, said the presidency spokesman Yasser Ali. Morsy had scheduled meetings for Saturday and Sunday with a number of former presidential candidates and civil society figures in an attempt to reach a consensus on the Constituent Assembly's current formation.
