Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 05 - 11 - 2019

First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jurgen Rigterink is scheduled to pay a three-day visit to Egypt on Tuesday to sign agreements on new projects.
The bank said in a statement on Monday that Rigterink will meet with senior government officials and business representatives, including Sahar Nasr, the minister of investment and international cooperation, and Hisham Tawfik, the minister of public enterprise.
During his stay in Cairo, Rigterink will also open an AmCham event on "Doing Well by Doing Good: Investing for Impact in Egypt", and he will sign new projects in Egypt.
The EBRD delegation will include Janet Heckman, EBRD managing director for the southern and eastern Mediterranean region, and Khalid Hamza, EBRD deputy head for Egypt.
Egypt is a founding member of EBRD. Since the start of its operations in Egypt in 2012, the bank has invested over €5.3 billion in 99 projects in the country.
2018 was a record year for Egypt, which became the largest EBRD country of operations.
Egypt is part of the southern and eastern Mediterranean region, which is currently a fast-growing region of EBRD operations with over €10 billion investments in 231 projects in the first six years.
