Egypt's textiles exports declined 6 percent to register $502 million during the January-July 2019 period from $534 million last year. Textiles, Apparel, and Home Textiles Export Council revealed in its latest bulletin that textiles exports has climbed down in July 2019 to record $ 74 million compared to $ 81 million in July 2018, with a decline of 9 percent. The Egyptian textile exports has stabilized at $ 218 million in the first quarter of 2019, while it fell by 11 percent in the second quarter to record $ 210 million compared to $ 236 million in the second quarter of 2018. 10 countries accounted for 76.9 percent of the value of Egypt textiles exports during the first 7 months of 2019, where the Turkish market topped the list recording exports of $174 million, followed by the Italy with $78 million, the Algeria came third with exports of $ 42 million. However, Egypt's exports of textiles to the Saudi market rose to $ 16 million against $ 10 million a year earlier, with a growth of 53%.
