EGX 30 Closes At 5725 Pts, CIB Shares 2.19% Up; Wednesday

During Wednesday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has pared its early gains to eventually reach EGP 699 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 393.611 billion.
The main index, EGX30 rose by 0.49% to end at 5725.68 p. EGX20 inched higher by 0.30% to close at 6709.31 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index witnessed a correction as the EGX70 slumped by 0.28% to conclude at 542.97 pts. Price index EGX100 also went down by 0.17% to finish at 902.51 p.
Traded volume reached 261.090 million securities worth EGP 10.02 billion, exchanged 51.156 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 183 listed securities; 94 declined 77 advanced while 12 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers seizing 75.54% and 7.11% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 4.461 million and EGP 926.460 thousand excluding the deals.
On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 17.35% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 5.387 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX's leading shares witnessed unsteady performance.
Mobinil:
Egyptian Company for Mobile Services - Mobinil – (EMOB.CA) dived by 2.62% to close at EGP 160.45.
Mobinil announced Monday afternoon that CEO Yves Gauthier's latest statement released by one of the Egyptian economic newspapers on Monday regarding delisting from the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is not completely identical to what he said.
The company added, in a release responding to EGX inquiries, that it has no information about the main shareholder's future plans regarding developing the Group's capital structure. The Group emphasized its commitment to inform the EGX with the company's upcoming updates.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) slumped by 1.43% to end at EGP 13.11.
Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Judge Mohamed Reda Shawkat, adjourned Saturday the consideration of the market manipulation case of which the sons of the ousted president Hosni Mubarak, Alaa and Gamal as well as EFG-Hermes CEOs Hassan Heikal and Yasser El Mallawany face charges alongside 5 other businessmen. The court was adjourned until Saturday 7/10/2012.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched lower by 1.08% to end at EGP 3.66.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) sank by 1.07% to conclude at EGP 3.69.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) returned to Tuesday's levels at EGP 0.57.
Commercial International Bank:
Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) surged by 2.19% to close at EGP 33.60.
Moody's has today confirmed Egypt's B2 government bond ratings and maintained the rating outlook at negative.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
Shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) went up by 0.61% to finish at EGP 4.92.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) hiked by 0.32% to close at EGP 294.51.
The Board of Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA) has approved the valuation differences for splitting the company's activities, as per the report of General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).
GAFI's report calculated the net book value of shareholders' equity in the Demerging Company (OCI Fertilizers) to the net book value of shareholders' equity in the Demerged Company (Orascom Engineering and Construction) at (86.11%) to (13.89%) respectively, based on OCI's financial statements for the fiscal year that ended on 31/12/2011.
