Ashraf Abdel-Wahab Denies Meeting Qandil
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 06 - 08 - 2012

Dr. Ashraf Abdelwahab, Deputy Minister of Administrative Development, reported in exclusive statements to Amwal Al Ghad that he did not meet Primer Minister Dr. Hesham Qandil or any leader of the Council of Ministers regarding appointing a new Minister of Administrative Development, given that such ministry was not included in the recent government formation which was declared last Thursday.
In light of the protests held yesterday by employees at the Ministry of Administrative Development, the Ministry sent a report on its annual achievements to Hesham Qandih, demanding him to nominate a minister, pointing out that the three previous governments of Ahmed Shafik, Essam Sharf, and Kamal Ganzoury did not name this ministry in their government formations, he said.
He explained that most of the employees are worried that the ministry may merge with any other administrative body, emphasizing that such occurrence would result in violent reactions from the employees, taking the set-ins which the ministry witnessed after the 25th January Revolution as an example. Such set-ins were held immediately after issuing the decision of merging the ministry with the Central Agency for Organization and Administration, he added, stating that these institutions perform very different roles.
He added that despite the haze situation that prevailed the ministry during the previous period, which lasted for a year and a half, it managed to achieve a large number of achievements and was granted the United Nations Public Service Award.
On the other hand, the Ministry's employees have suspended their set-in today after the Sinai events, which happened yesterday, noting that people have to overlook personal and temporary interests at such times.
