Egypt's state-owned construction firm Hassan Allam has won a mandate to execute three sewage stations of 140 million Egyptian pounds ($7.9 million) in a number of different governorates, said an official source on Wednesday. "The new sewage flagships will be delivered within a timeframe ranging between 12 months and 16 months," the source further told Amwal Al Ghad, referring that his company captures total contracts estimated at more than two billion pounds. The company plans to expand its business in the local market, by carrying out a bunch of major projects in Cairo and Alexandria, the state's second largest city, in partnership with a number of the public sector's affiliates, he added. "This comes as part of the company's scheme to expand into the real estate investment activity and develop land plot portfolio," he noted. In addition, the source referred that Hassan Allam is currently implementing new utilities and residential projects in the county's new administrative capital city, some 40km (24.8 miles) to the east of Cairo. "The company seeks to deliver the residential works at the end of next June," the source stated. Hassan Allam has been also mandated to execute other giant buildings exceeding 1.3 billion pounds in the new capital's ministerial district, he said.
