INJAZ Egypt says 2 teams to partake in Arab Entrepreneurs Competition

INJAZ Al-Arab, a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide (JA), announced the opening of its 11th Annual Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition, which is taking place in Egypt. The two-day event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, and in partnership with the Egyptian Tourism Authority.
High school and University students from 10 different Arab countries will be competing over the following award categories: "University Company of the Year", "High School Company of the Year", "University Product of the Year", "High School Product of the Year", "University Company for Best Social Impact", "High School Company for Best Social Impact", "2017 FedEx Access Award", "Citi Client Focus Award" and the "MBC Al Amal Pitch of the Year Award".
Different judges were nominated to each competition. Our esteemed judges have been selected for their experience, influence and knowledge. For the high school competition, Dalia Salib, Snacks Marketing Director, Bashar Al Kadhi, CEO of Hill & Knowlton, and Elena Butarova, General Manager of MetLife, Mariam Farag, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at MBC Group and Omid Honari, Regional Director- MENA of Shorelight.
As for the judges assigned for the University competition; Fadi Antaki, CEO of A15, Roula Droubi, Regional Director Middle East and North Africa Government, Industrial and Community Engagement of Boeing Middle East, Carmen Hadad, CEO of Citi, Asheesh Advani, President & CEO of JAWW, Omar El Hamamsy, Director of McKinsey & Company Middle East.
From FedEx Express, Kamal Najjar, Manager – GSP Operations, Planning and Development of MEISA and Muhannad Ayyoub, Business Development Manager – GSP Sales and Department of Defense will represent FedEx Express as judges for the for the FedEx Access Award. Mohamed Abdel Kader, Managing Director of Citi Foundation will be the Citi Award judge.
Two Egyptian teams will participate in this year's competition:
. The CAC Injaz team, which will proudly present the student-led Zip & Flip. This project was the development of a waterproof beach bag that unzips into a beach towel, and reached an outstanding 50,000 LE in sales.
. The Career 180 team, which established a comprehensive career knowledge network that connects youth at the onset of their career to experts across the MENA region. Career 180 offera spectrum of online and offline products and services that accompany youth through their career development ladder.
Commenting on the event, INJAZ Egypt Founder and CEO, Dina El Mofty, said: "We are proud that Egypt will compete in INJAZ Al-Arab's 11th Young Arab Entrepreneurs Annual Competition with two teams. INJAZ has been working in Egypt for over 10 years to advance the abilities of employability and enterprise among Egypt's incessantly unemployed youth. Joining forces with business and instructive establishments, INJAZ always seeks to assemble the limit and understand the capability of the Egyptian youth through their educational programs."
The regional competition is organized in partnership with global and regional esteemed entities, namely FedEx Express, MBC Al Amal, Citi Foundation, Boeing, and with the support of local partners from Egypt including, PepsiCo, Banque Misr, Dow Chemical, Al Alfi Foundation, Crédit Agricole, Uber, Vodafone and the Four Seasons Hotel at Nile Plaza.
The annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition follows the completion of individual country rounds, and closes six months of training in work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship based on INJAZ Al-Arab's internationally acclaimed Company Program©.
