France's AXA Is largest Global Insurer By Net Premiums Witten

Japan Post Insurance Co., Ltd. topped A.M. Best's Review list of the world's 25 largest insurance companies by non-banking assets and France's AXA S.A. was ranked the first by net premiums written in 2010.
The rankings of the world's largest global insurance companies were released by A.M. Best in January 2nd, 2012 issue of Best Week.
Japan Post Insurance Co., Ltd had US$ 1.089 trillion in non-banking assets in 2010 and despite retreating by 5.26% from 2009, it topped the list. France's AXA S.A. came in the second rank as it had US$ 920.4 billion in non-banking assets, with an increase of 3.27% from 2009.
France's AXA S.A. had US$ 107.9 billion in net premiums written in 2010, with a surge of 0.2% from 2009. Italy's Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. had 87.166 billion in net premiums written with an increase of 2.87% from 2009.
