Oppo Sales in China Reaches 18 Million Devices in Q2-2016
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 18 - 09 - 2016

OPPO International, the leading company in the field of electronic devices and smartphones achieved a record sales volume in the Chinese market during the second quarter of 2016.
OPPO's smartphone sales in China – from the period between April and June 2016 – reached nearly 18 million units, compared to only 8 million units in the same period of last year, with a market share estimated at 16.2% compared to 7.6% last year. This contributed in OPPO reaching second place as the company with most sales, with a slight difference of only 1% from the lead, according to recent statistics conducted by IDC, the International Foundation for Consulting and Market Research.
OPPO is considered the company with the fastest growth rate over the last twelve months, with a growth rate reaching 124.1% by the end of June 2016.
Chinese market is the world's largest market in smartphones. It is witnessing a fierce competition among the major manufacturers of phones, such as Apple and Samsung.
Credit goes to the "F1 Plus" phone known in China as "R9" for these results, which achieved sales of over 7 million units since its launch in March. The company was selling one device per second. This phone managed to acquire the title of "The Bestselling Smartphone in China" last June.
Notably, OPPO occupies 4th place worldwide in smartphone sales in Q2 of 2016, with a market share of 5.4%, according to recent statistics by Gartner, a major marketing research institution.
