10 goods seize 27.2% of Egypt's total imports in June 2016

Egypt's imports of ten goods hiked in June 2016 by 17.6 percent to around 12.7 billion Egyptian pounds (US$1.4 billion) from 10.8 billion at the same period of 2015.
State's statistics body CAPMAS stated in its bulletin of foreign trade that the ten goods seized 27.2 percent of Egypt's total imports during June 2016.
The imports of oil-cake soared by 126.9 percent to 702.4 million pounds in June 2016 opposed to 309.6 million pounds in June 2015, leading the list of Egyptian importer sectors. Following oil-cake, corn imports recorded 1.2 billion pounds in June 2016 versus 932 million pounds a year earlier, making 30.7 percent increase.
The bulletin showed that Egypt's imports of meat hit 1.6 billion pounds in June 2016 opposed to 1.3 billion pounds in June 2015, registering 26.2 percent rise. In addition, filament yarns imports increased by 25.8 percent to 651.7 million compared to 518 million pounds.
The imports of medicaments and pharmaceuticals reached 1.8 billion pounds in June 2016 compared to 1.5 billion pounds in June 2015, marking a 21.6 percent increase.
The CAPMAS stated that Egyptian imports of wheat inched up by 18.3 percent to 950.2 million pounds versus 803 million pounds in June 2015.
The imports of chemicals, organic and non-organic products registered 1.3 billion pounds in June 2016 opposed to 1.1 billion pounds a year earlier, marking 17 percent rise.
According to the bulletin, Egypt's imports of motor vehicle parts edged up by 6.4 percent to 932.1 million pounds from 876.2 million pounds while imports of plastics of primary forms hit 1.583 billion pounds versus 1.579 billion pounds.
