'Pokemon Go' now the biggest mobile game in US history
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 14 - 07 - 2016

"Pokemon Go" has hit a milestone.
The augmented reality activity is now the biggest mobile game in U.S. history, according to a SurveyMonkey.
As of Tuesday, "Pokemon Go" attracted just under 21 million daily active users in the United States.
Previous record holders include "Draw Something" and "Candy Crush," at roughly 16 million and 20 million, respectively.
Within 24 hours, the widely "Pokemon" popular game reached number 1 on App Store, beating out indie hit "Slither.io" and Supercell's heavily promoted blockbuster "Clash Royale" to become the biggest game of 2016, according to the post.
After three days of its release, "Pokemon Go" had attracted more users than Twitter, and rose to the top of the App Store's revenue charts.
At the release, Nintendo saw a sudden and steep rise in Nintendo stock. Though we don't yet know how much Nintendo is making off its game, at the maker of "Candy Crush," King, said that at the peak in 2013 the game accounted for about $1.54 billion gross revenue.
SurveyMonkey said it is too early to declare "Pokemon" a win for Nintendo. But the game is expected to pass Snapchat on Android in a few days, and it could surpass Google Maps itself as the largest user of Alphabet's mapping data.
