OLX Egypt, the leading classified ads platform in the country, announced the appointment of Momtaz Moussa as its new general manager of OLX Egypt which is one of the company's biggest markets in the Middle East and North Africa region. Appointing Moussa a general manager is a central core for OLX developmental plans for 2016 since he will provide a local leadership with wide vision in Egyptian customer service sector. Since the beginning of 2016, OLX Egypt has seen a significant increase in the number of users. Over 2.9 million new users subscribed monthly. Moreover, a new advertisement was uploaded on the website almost every 30 seconds. In April 2016, OLX Egypt was identified as Egypt's top application for internet shopping on Apple's App Store and Android's Google Play. Appointing Moussa to this post is expected to help attract more users to OLX Egypt and promote the concept of posting used items for sale rather than disposing them. Before being rebranded to Olx Arabia in 2015, the leading online classifieds platform was launched in 2011 under the name 'Dubbizle'. Moussa brings more than 10 years of experience in marketing, business strategy and general management with Booz&Co, Vodafone, and private ventures and has successful contribution in many startups, has been recognized internationally. Moussa holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School and BSC in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo.
