EMAC Contracting, affiliated to Kuwait's Al Kharafi & Sons Group, is competing to execute roads in Upper Egypt in the frame work of the development plans submitted by Egyptian government during the current period, its executive manager, Samir Fathy said Tuesday. Later, the company has succeeded in capturing substantial share of the National Roads Project. The National Roads Project is a large Egyptian infrastructure project initiated by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in August 2014. The project includes the construction of 39 new roadways with a total length of 4,400 km. The new road network will account for around 10% of the total length of all roads in Egypt. The project is expected to be completed within 2 years and cost 36 billion EGP. Thus, EMAC is currently carrying out 60 Km of Qena-Safaga road worth 450 million Egyptian pounds, 17 km of shoubra-benha road worth 1.6 million Egyptian pounds among the first phase of the national road network. Moreover, EMAC is planning to expand in the infrastructure projects in East Port Said during the current period.
