Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 03 - 05 - 2014

Nestlé S.A., the world's leading nutrition company, has inaugurated on Wednesday a new distribution centre in Egypt's Luxor. The move will help meet growing demand for Nestlé brands across the Upper Egypt area.
The new distribution centre will now get to consumers from Luxor, Aswan and Qena at a faster pace.
From his part, Nestlé Egypt's CEO Suresh Narayanan stated that the new distribution centre is very vital to Nestlé's growth in Upper Egypt. He added that the new distribution centre will contribute to increase the number of employees working in Upper Egypt office by 50%. The newly-launched centre is three times larger than the old one, designed to manage the capacity increases and adapt the Group's products to the customers' needs and preferences, he noted.
Nestlé Egypt is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nestlé S.A. in Switzerland, the largest food and wellness company worldwide.
Nestlé started its activities in Africa by the end of the nineteenth century and has deep-rooted its industrial presence in 1927 by opening its first plants in South Africa. The company today operates 24 factories in the African Continent and provides nearly 29,000 direct employment opportunities and more than 50,000 indirect jobs. Its products are sold in all 54 African countries. Nestlé products have been present in the North East African markets since over a century.
