Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 10 - 03 - 2014

Following the launch of the 10th Annual EFG-Hermes One on One Conference on Sunday in Dubai, experts and participants are forecasting huge cash and investment flows onto Egyptian as well as MENA markets.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum -Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the 10th Annual EFG-Hermes One on One Conference has been launched on Sunday in Dubai, with the aim to attract investments to Egypt and the Middle East region.
Ahmed El Guindy – Head of Investment Banking at EFG-Hermes – is expecting growing foreign investment flows into Egypt after completing the establishment of state institutions by electing a new head of the state and forming a new parliament.
Egyptian as well as other markets in the MENA region will be witnessing significant cash flows from global financial institutions and investment funds which reportedly exited from some emerging markets, notably Latin America and Asia, an official at the financial group said on Monday.
Nassim Nicholas Taleb, the bestselling author of The Black Swan, has referred to a growing global meantime trend to inject new investments onto the Egyptian market, since Egypt is on the right track towards achieving economic and political.
Moreover, Taleb said investors have to ignore what the ‘falsified' media reports made about the situation in Egypt which would deliberately have negative impact on alluring new investments to the North African market.
The three-day conference is scheduled to be attended by representatives of more than 130 regional and international financial institutions, investment companies and funds. The conference, taking place 9 - 12 March, is part of the EFG Hermes dedication to stimulate regional and international investments.
The conference serves as an ideal platform for local, regional and international companies and institutions, offering in-depth information on the most important economy and investment related issues and developments.
The conference allows relevant institutions to outreach prominent players in the international investment community who aspire to utilize the promising investment opportunities in MENA capital markets, particularly in Egypt.
Under the theme "Celebrating a Decade of Success," the largest MENA-dedicated conference, will witness an unprecedented participation from major regional and international investment companies.
The annual conference stands as a perfect opportunity to explore a wide range of new ideas and strategies that will be discussed by prominent speakers and top government officials. It contributes to bringing together investors from different regions and building strategic partnerships to support the world and regional economy. Representative of multiple sectors including energy, health care, real estate development, tourism, communication and infrastructure will be attending the conference, making it a unique opportunity for collaboration.
